9 of 10 Maryland Localities Have Now Set Their Mandated Stormwater Fee (Rain Tax), Frederick County Oks 1 Cent

The deadline for 10 Maryland localities to set new stormwater utility fees is fast approaching. Nine of the 10 have now set fees, the lowest a 1 cent levy per eligible property in Frederick County. Many of the fees range based on equivalent residential units (ERUs) that are based on impervious surface square footage. Charles County has approved a flat $43 annual fee and Prince George County is proposing $62 on residential and a sliding amount based on impervious surface that is up for Council vote.
