A-NRHA Helps Displaced Seabreeze Apartment Tenants from Hurricane Sandy
The Accomack-Northampton Regional Housing Authority (A-NRHA) has offered all displaced tenants of Seabreeze Apartments a place to live while their apartments are repaired or until Seabreeze can make other arrangements.
During Hurricane Sandy, Northampton County Administrator Katie Nunez personally made an urgent call to find each family a home. She serves on the A-NRHA Board. While many tenants found other places to go several families relocated within the week of the storm to vacant units in the William Hughes Apartments, recently retrieved from the bankruptcy of the previous owner by the A-NRHA.
William Hughes Apartments is also the receipent of tax credits that are going to improve the property and update building systems. These additional dollars will go a long way toward keeping the apartment complex an asset for the community for a long time.
