ESVA Focused Chesapeake Bay TMDL Informational Presentation Now Available

In summer of 2011, the Department of Conservation and Recreation reached out to Accomack and Northampton Counties to educate them about the Chesapeake Bay TMDL. Due to the fast pace of the required submission from Virginia to the EPA and the late arrival of the Virginia Assessment Scenario Tool (VAST), each county only had approximately a month and a half to formulate strategies that could be submitted as part of VAST and formally adopt them. As a result, both counties did submit strategies and these relied heavily on counting voluntary agriculture Best Management Practices.

A presentation, in three parts, is based on the notes from this period. It is attached and provides all the pertinent issues that were discussed at that time.
