Plans Announced for DPI-Sponsored National Meeting in Ocean City, MD in October
The newly named 48th National Meeting on Poultry Health, Processing, and Live Production will be held October 7 – 9, 2013 in Ocean City, Maryland.
Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc. has assumed responsibility for what used to be “The Delmarva Poultry Conference” planned and operated in prior years by the University of Maryland and University of Delaware, the new National Meeting on Poultry Health, Processing, and Live Production has added a Live Production Session.
The meeting will open on Monday, October 7 with an evening fellowship period. On Tuesday, October 8, the Combined Session will start the presentations. Then, three concurrent sessions will be focused on Poultry Health, Processing/Food Safety, and Live Production. The Poultry Health Session resumes on the morning of Wednesday, October 9.
Persons who attend the October 8 opening Combined Session and the Live Production Session throughout the day can earn four hours of continuing education credits through the Maryland Department of Agriculture’s Nutrient Management Program and four hours of continuing education credits through the Delaware Nutrient Management Program. These credits should be incentives for Delmarva chicken growers to attend the Ocean City meeting.
