USGS and NOAA Find that Potomac Water Quality Could Increase with Oyster Aquaculture

Aquatic Geochemistry has published a USGS/NOAA report that finds that if 40% of the Potomac riverbed were devoted to oyster aquaculture all the nitrogen in the river could be removed. If even 15 to 20 of the riverbed were to be put into oyster cultivation, half of the nutrients could be removed. For more details, please read the abstract.
